Screen International has unveiled Stars of Tomorrow 2019, its annual, eagerly anticipated talent showcase of the most exciting new actors, writers, directors, producers and heads of department emerging across the UK and Ireland, and this year it features one of The Brit List writers.
Restoration romp wins 10 awards including best British independent, with best actress for Olivia Colman.
This year there are 18 projects on the list. Topping them is Phillip Morgan’s Benny In The Dark, a supernatural thriller set in the 1950s, which received a total of nine recommendations.
The Brit List, the UK’s version of the Black List, received 134 script recommendations this year.
The Brit List, the annual survey of British film executives’ favorite unproduced screenplays, was unveiled Monday in London with “Benny in the Dark,” a supernatural thriller by Phillip Morgan, heading the list.
Two projects from Tally Garner’s drama indie Mam Tor Productions, a thriller from HBO and Sky-backed Bad Wolf and a crime drama from Fleming producer Ecosse Films lead the Brit List 2018.
The Brit List, the annual selection of the best unproduced screenplays as voted for by the industry, has launched a TV offshoot with an inaugural 20-strong crop of series.
