The list was announced on Monday 22nd November 2021, online at 16:00 GMT.
With the success of last year’s List being a mix of both TV and Feature projects, going forward The Brit List will continue to present screenwriters working in each form in a single list.
Compiled from recommendations by British production companies, talent agencies, sales companies, financiers, distributors and broadcasters, the scripts that have made it on to this year’s list are a reflection of industry tastes.
In 2021, the bar for inclusion has again moved higher than ever before, with scripts needing a minimum of 7 recommendations for inclusion. Of nearly 300 scripts put forward, 18 have made it onto The Brit List 2021. Nearly a third of the scripts on The Brit List 2021 are Feature scripts, and 65% are written by female writers – more than ever before.
